ALONG THE BAJA COAST
Stateroom photos are for sample purposes only -- actual design and layout may vary. Each stop on a western Mexico cruise promises endless new discoveries. Bask in the wild natural beauty of Cabo San Lucas, with its windswept cliffs plunging into the Pacific.
Sea of Cortez
It started with a boat ride to a private beach about 30 minutes away and on that boat ride we saw tons of whales swimming all over the place. This review is focused more on the destination, including ports of call in Mexico and things to do there. You can sail with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, Norwegian, and even Holland America. So my suggestion is to do some research on each cruise ship and compare pricing.
Mazatlan Cathedral
The panoramic view takes center stage in The Crow's Nest at the top of the ship, where you can relax just about any time of day and enjoy your favorite drink. All your senses will be captivated on a luxury cruise to the Mexican Riviera with Celebrity. Feel the sea breeze on your face as you sail around the rocky coastline of Cabo San Lucas on the lookout for sea lions. Explore the galleries and boho-chic shops of Olas Altas, Puerto Vallarta.
The Dining Room
With an abundance of activities to do on both land and sea, Medano Beach offers something for the whole family. Relax on the golden shores, or indulge in a waterside lunch nearby. Float in the turquoise sea, or make some waves on a jet ski ride. Even more spots for entertainment include the classic-theater vibe of Teatro Rosso featuring Playlist Productions shows, and Tuscan Lounge paying tribute to Florence's iconic home region. Extend your Mexico cruise vacation, and simplify your travel plans with a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your cruise. With a Cruise Plus Hotel Package, a Princess representative meets you at the airport and pier, transporting you to and from your hotel.
Top Puerto Vallarta Cruise Excursions for 2024
From Sonoran specialties like machaca stew to Baja beach-day classics like shrimp and fish tacos, you’ll find plenty of crave-worthy flavors to savor during your Mexico cruise. On a seven-day Mexico cruise or a 10-day itinerary, you can find expertly crafted excursions on every itinerary. Zipline across forests and rappel down waterfalls in Puerto Vallarta.
Cruise from Los Angeles and explore some of the region’s must-visit destinations, like Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. Soak up the sunshine of the Mexican Riviera on one of our luxury cruise ships. Lounge by the shimmering pool, or sample the cocktail menu in the gorgeous Sunset Bar, overlooking the ship’s wake. On Solstice-series ships, bask on the grass of the Lawn Club on the upper deck, and cool off with delicious gelato from Café al Bacio.
Cabo has so many relaxing or adventuring excursions you can partake in. The only thing I did not enjoy about the beach in Cabo is the hoards of locals trying to sell you items. You’ll probably notice that there aren’t as many excursions of things to do there. Mazatlan does have a downtown area where you can do a little shopping or have some lunch. The shopping area of Mazatlan is called the “Malecon” and you can walk there right from the ship.
With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private verandah, these spacious suites are flooded with light. They feature a large sitting area and two lower beds convertible to one king-size bed—our signature Mariner's Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses. The bathroom comes with a dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath and shower, plus additional shower stall.
Try one of our classes on indoor cycling, Pilates and more or work out at your own pace. You can also head out for fresh air and exercise on deck, where you'll find basketball and volleyball courts, and two refreshing pools (available on select ships). The Explorer’s Lounge is an elegant and refined space to enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail, or your favorite liqueur.
Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful city with gorgeous beaches that you can see the minute your ship pulls up. It’s no wonder this has become such a popular vacation destination outside of cruising. Typically, a 7-day Mexican Riviera Cruise From Los Angeles includes the following 3 ports; Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. Explore 9 cool things to do on short cruises from Los Angeles with Royal Caribbean Cruises. Top-rated vacation destinations in the Baja Coast, including Catalina Island and Ensenada.
Bordered by the Pacific, the Mexican Riviera checks all the boxes — great cuisine, quaint historic towns, top-rated beaches and even a wine country that rivals Napa. What’s more, you’ll have just as much to look forward to in between shoreside discoveries as you sail onboard the Amplified fleet-favorite, Navigator of the Seas®. Our Princess fleet includes ships that offer a multitude of amenities and feature the innovative MedallionClass® experience. From a balcony stateroom, take in the sights and sounds of the colorful cultures ashore before enjoying the “sabor” of local cuisine in one of our many eateries during your Mexican Riviera cruise. In many of our dining rooms, enjoy Mexican-themed dishes — like ceviche, fajitas and coconut cocadas — for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While we're excited about the Italian side of this ship, it's not the whole story.
Mexico’s vibrant cuisine brings ever-new discoveries as you sail the Mexican Riviera. There are more than 50 wineries in the Guadalupe Valley near Ensenada, so this is the place to head for tastings. In Puerto Vallarta, don’t miss pescado embarazado, fresh fish grilled with lime on a stick over charcoal, served with tangy salsa.
Our relaxing café with panoramic views is your home for handcrafted espresso drinks during the day and refreshing cocktails in the evening. There were even times we were laying on our towels, enjoying the sun, and would be surrounded by 5 people at once trying to sell us different items. With the Carnival Panorama, Puerto Vallarta was our first stop and we were docked here from 9 am-8 pm.
